II.
Gender-ResponsiveandInclusiveInterventions
ToaddressgenderinequalitiesandmeetthehumanitarianneedsofconflictsurvivorsinUkraine,gender-responsiveandinclusiveinterventionsmustbesupportedatalllevelsofresponse,includingthehumanitarian,peacebuilding,
andpost-conflictreconstructionphases.
Specificinterventionscouldincludethefollowing:
• Provision ofgender-responsivehealthcare,suchasreproductivehealthservices,maternalhealthcare,andmentalhealthsupport that address the specific needs ofwomen and girls.
• Establishment ofsafe spacesforwomenandgirlsinconflict-affectedareas,includingsheltersandprotectionservicesforvictims of gender-based violence.
• Involvement ofwomeninpeacebuildingandconflictresolutionprocesses,toensuretheirmultipleanddiversevoices
are heardandtheirparticipationindecision-makingismeasuredandvalued.
• Provision oflegalaidandprotection,includingthecreationofspecial mechanismsforvictims of gender-basedviolence.
• Implementation ofprograms thatsupportwomen’slivelihoodsandfinancialindependence.
Gender-relatedimpactsoftheUkraineConflictwillcontinuetoremainsignificant, particularlyforwomenandchildren. Itisvitalthatall stakeholdersinvolvedinthecrisisresponseadopta systematicapproachtogenderandensurethatinterventionsare inclusiveandresponsive tothediverse needsofallsurvivors.
